It's Black Friday. CHLY is a nonprofit. Amazon Isn't. We need your support.

Today is Black Friday. One of the most important weekends for not only small local businesses (please support them), but also massive multi-national corporations that one day will be colonizing Mars (oh hey Amazon) to avoid paying their taxes. We know Black Friday is still less of a "thing" here in Canada, but never the less, we know your email is probably full of Black Friday deals trying to capitalize on your desire to 'save money' by spending it on deals.

A voice for community, a voice for students—donate to CHLY 101.7FM.

Local media? What does it mean? It means a voice for the community, a voice for students, and a place to express what we love. Hi, I'm Erin Coole. VIU Student, Volunteer Events Coordinator, Board Member, and co-host on the VIU Meter at CHLY 101.7FM. Our station would not be possible without the support of our listeners. Cassandra B. on why you should support CHLY.

“Hey there friends. This is Cassandra Blondin-Burt speaking to you from Gabriola Island. I'm here to thank listeners from Nanaimo and around the world for tuning into CHLY 101.7fm and CHLY.ca. It is because of the support of people like you that stations like this can continue to broadcast local relevant content, giving a voice to our community, and letting us better know each other, real-life content that isn't marred by too much advertisement, and giving us what mass media can't. Events and stories in our every day lives. So let's keep on tuning in and sending support, so they can keep doing what they do best, giving us content as evolving and dynamic as our island community continues to be.”
