About a month or so ago, Spencer Medford applied to be a volunteer at CHLY. It took a little bit of time for us to follow up with him, but as it turns out, it was probably one of the smartest things we could have done.

Supported for now by Nanaimo Foodshare's Cultivating Abilities Program, Spencer's interest is in news and journalism. Since joining us, Spencer has taken a lead—with the help of James Kasper—on making daily news updates happen at CHLY, something we're hoping to keep doing moving forward.
