Orientation Weeks

Want to get involved in your campus station? Sign up for a orientation weeks, or a stand-alone orientation session! Each session should run around approximately an hour and a half, with time for questions.

Scheduled Orientation Session dates are listed in the form.

Please sign up with the form on this page. If those session dates and times do not work for you, please use the “Other Orientation Date” field so that we can followup with a one-on-one session.

What do and review at Orientation?

Orientation is a great way to see the station, and meet other students! We review what CHLY 101.7FM is all about, reviewing our mission statement, sources of funding, and how our organization is structured and were you fit in as a student. We explain what we do in campus-community radio—how we’re different from public and commercial broadcasters. Our broadcast community is also explained, alongside how our non-profit organization is structured.

We also review our ongoing projects, how we’re working to engage students, our plan to return to campus, our Nonprofit Newsroom project and more.

Finally, we review volunteer roles that students may be interested in, basic volunteer rules and sign volunteer agreements. Opportunities for further training are then provided.

Directions to the station can be found on our contact page.

You can also sign up for a training session.
