I really can’t stress this enough—we are listener supported. We don’t lean hard as much as we could on advertising—which I am sure is appreciated—we certainly don’t lean on corporate advertising to pay the bills at the station.

Today we have about 800 or so people on our mailing list who get these emails. Some are current sustaining donors, some are past donors, but most are people who haven’t supported us yet with a small monthly donation.

Nanaimo and Ottawa (Monday November 5th, 2018) – Mr. Roger Ouellette, President of the Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) and Jesse Woodward, former President of CHLY-FM, a campus radio station located in Nanaimo, BC, are pleased to announce that $34,320 will go towards the implementation of their project "Workshop development for ongoing skills training, and Summer Radio Camp".

Thanks to funding from the Canada Summer Jobs program, CHLY has been able to hire a Summer Station Assistant! We welcome aboard Vancouver Island University Student Adam Barron who will for now be covering evening office hours at CHLY as well as weekends.

Hello Listeners. On April the 24th, I was offered by the Board of Directors of the Radio Malaspina Society a position with CHLY 101.7FM as Executive Coordinator. I have accepted this position and have resigned from the board as its President. While I will miss my former role, I am incredibly excited about my new role moving forward.
