Station Manager Jesse Woodward had the pleasure of interviewing Bennet Caffee about his show “My First Miracle: Adventures in Bipolar Disorder” for the 2022-08-17 Edition of the VIU Meter.

My First Miracle celebrates Bennet Caffee’s bipolar experience from his first manic episode when he was twenty-one to his final episode when he finally accepted treatment. His show highlights the “fun part” of his outrageous manic experiences, but also touches on the depressive side of BPD.

His last show with the Nanaimo Fringe Festival is this Saturday at 8:30 PM.

Policy Update: BC Vaccine Card Requirement Lifted

As of April 8th, the PHO of British Columbia has ended its Proof of Vaccination Orders. In line with this, CHLY will no longer require Proof of Vaccination for in-station access by volunteers or staff.

Volunteers who had not submitted their status, are welcome again to participate in-station.

Per our policy, records of Proof of Vaccination status for staff and volunteers will be destroyed.

Notice of Special General Meeting 2021

Due to the expressed need to replace our ageing transmitter, the Radio Malaspina Society’s Board of Directors seeks the approval of its members to seek a loan of up to $25,000 to replace its transmitter. The transmitter is integral to the operations of CHLY-FM, and if the current transmitter failed, the station would be off the air for an indefinite period of time, putting our broadcast license at risk.
