Hello music lovers! Please take a journey to the Latin Quarter of Paris in 1830 for Opera Nanaimo’s heart-warming production of La Bohème.

With an outstanding cast of soloists, you will understand the reason why this opera is one of the five best-loved operas produced worldwide. The love story of Rodolfo and Mimi continues to move us with its tenderness and passion. The struggles of the four young Bohemians – a painter, a poet, a philosopher and a musician are as relevant today as they were when Puccini composed this opera. With a chorus of talented children as well as an adult chorus, La Bohème will be reproduced with all the gorgeous music that it is famous for.

Nasti Weather and Amelia Thomas at the White Room.

Nasti Weather is the fallen gospel gutter folk creation of East Vancouver's Anastasia Schlechtleitner. They put on powerful, genuinely heartfelt live shows that manage to bridge the gap between a lively and deeply introspective performance. Nasti Weather is in the eye of the beholder but is consistently marked by uniquely haunting garage jazz vocal stylings and profound yet cheeky lyricism…

Nanaimo’s Western Edge Theatre continues its 15th Anniversary season with "Between the Sheets" by Jordi Mand, an explosive drama about two women and a single night that changes their lives. Set in a grade three classroom on parent-teacher night, "Between the Sheets" begins as a seemingly-innocent meeting between Marion, the mother of a special needs child, and “Miss Stewart,” her child’s teacher. Before it’s through, however, it will have turned into a passionate confrontation in which the needs of the two women are also powerfully laid bare, as they battle for the child, themselves, and what they believe to be true.
