Cultivate: Performing Arts Festival

  • The Gabriola Island Commons 675 North Road Gabriola, BC, V0R 1X3 Canada (map)

Cultivate Performing Arts Festival, August 16 - 19, 2018 on Gabriola Island, will bring the best of local and international theatre, music, and storytelling, to a stunning island venue.

Known for its natural beauty, creative culture, and welcoming hospitality, Gabriola Island will be host to high-quality theatrical performances by international companies, diverse independent musical acts from around the Salish Sea, and a unique flavour of all-ages play and fun. Cultivate will be a laidback extravaganza in the best island style.

The festival will feature 7 mainstage theatre shows, 35 musical acts, and 3 free family performances, on the beautiful grounds of the Gabriola Commons. Music will happen on 2 stages at the Gabriola Commons, while theatre will have its own dedicated stage. There will also be a thriving vendor village, a family area, roaming performers, morning movement, workshops and top-notch, local food and drink.

Cultivate will also feature plenty of local talent from Gabriola’s amazing artistic community, including the premiere of a made-on-Gabriola one-woman show, more than 10 Gabriola music acts, and Gabriola artists displaying their art.
