Words & Culture
From their website:
The heart of Words and Culture lies in its commitment to learn, celebrate, and connect. The show features five different languages of six episodes each. Join us as we delve into distinct Indigenous language families. Hosted by speakers and learners of the language, Words and Culture spends time with each diverse language learning simple phrases, and connecting to the culture of those communities. Join us as we get to know the passion of language keepers, musicians who sing in their language, the excitement of a language nest, challenges for new speakers, profiles of generational speakers who are keeping their languages alive, and documentary-style episodes of practical uses for everyday tasks – ie. Cree in the kitchen.
Words and Culture brings listeners along to communities where culture thrives and language is being revived.
A new season of Words & Culture is coming in early 2025.
