Program Promos

Every program on CHLY needs to be promoted. Hosts and producers are invited to record Program Promos that are 15s in length, 30s in length, and 45s in length.

We recommend a 15s and 30s promo to maximize the promotion of your program on CHLY during the end of hour Station Time block.

Your Program Promo should contain:

  • Your Program Name.

    • “Tune in to the Sweet Spot…”

  • The name of the host.

    • “With your host Sandeep, the Soul Survivor…”

  • What day and time—or span of time—it broadcasts.

    • “Wednesdays at 10PM”

    • “Saturdays from 10 to 12PM”

  • What the program is about.

    • A mixtape of rock, hip-hop, R&B, electronic, and more.

  • Music. Something you’d play on your program.

    • You can submit several tracks for different versions of your ad. Staff will do the edit for your promo.

Other Considerations

  • Your Promo(s) can note whether or not your program is coming up in the day, or later in the week.

Pronunciation Guide

  • Nanaimo – “NAN-nigh-MOE”.

  • Salish – “SAY-lish” (Also, be careful to avoid saying Salish ‘She’ instead of Salish Sea).

  • CHLY 101.7FM – C-H-L-Y one-zero-one point seven FM. (We avoid the use of “chili" as it creates confusion).
