CHLY-FM's CRTC C/C Broadcast Licence Renewed from 2023 to 2030
As of March 16th, 2023, CHLY-FM’s C/C Licence has been renewed by the CRTC from 2023-09-01 to 2030-08-31. Interventions were submitted in support of CHLY-FM by Barry Rooke Executive Director of the National Campus Community Radio Association (NCRA). No interventions were submitted against our renewal.
Under Campus-Community “C/C” Licensing, CHLY-FM is considered a Campus Station as it receives a levy from students enrolled at Vancouver Island University’s Nanaimo campus. These students are considered Student Members and have representation on our Board of Directors with four seats reserved for them, alongside six seats reserved for Community Members with two of those Community Member seats reserved for a representative from VIU’s administration and faculty.
CHLY-FM and 27 other Campus Radio stations were renewed, alongside 40 Community Radio Stations.
