Talent Search in association with Urbnet
Wab Kinew Presents Aboriginal Urban Star 2013 is an exciting new one-hour series featuring the country’s most talented and charismatic up-and-coming performers. Hopeful rappers, country singers, pop artists, R&B singers, dancers, will compete for a record deal and music video. The grand prize is sponsored by Canada’s fastest growing record label Urban Star Inc. Records and distributed by Urbnet. Contest officially opens online on September 21st, 2012.
Contestants will face elimination over 11 episodes and experience what it takes to make it as a professional artist. The season premiere will introduce the show concept, hosts and the many hopefuls that have auditioned across the country. The audience will get a chance to enjoy the good, the bad and all drama in between!
40 semi-finalists will be selected from the auditions across Canada. Only 10 will remain by the end of the seventh episode by our award-winning panel of judges: journalist and musical artist Wab Kinew, Winnipeg Most artist Jon C., and singer/songwriter Inez.

The winner will be announced in the fall of 2014 on Shaw Cable, Shaw Direct Satellite, Northwestel Cable, TV and Cogeco. Exact times will be announced closer to audition tour launch.
Contestants that pre-register online have a chance to win one of five golden tickets to bypass the auditions and go straight to the semi-finals in Winnipeg.
