GLOBAL VILLAGE NANAIMO FAIR TRADE STORE OPENING

Global Village Nanaimo (GVN) is pleased to announce the opening of our seasonal Fair Trade Store at Westhill Centre, 1808 Bowen Road in downtown Nanaimo. Grand opening celebrations will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, October 27th.

This store is unique in Nanaimo because it sells only fair trade goods, guaranteeing that the fair price as determined by the producers has already been paid to them. Customers have the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping to turn the tide of
unfair global and corporate purchasing practices, and providing artisans and craftspeople a chance to earn with dignity. Customers also have the assurance that GVN sells uniqueness and quality at fair, but affordable, prices.

GVN sells a wide range of products that are artistic and beautiful, as well as functional:
housewares, gift items, jewellery, and accessories, children’s toys and Christmas decorations are a few of the categories of items. We buy small quantities of items which are handmade and therefore unique. Also sold are fair trade commodities such as coffee, tea, cocoa, chocolate and olive oil.

We support many producers and producer groups who are striving to become self-sufficient in difficult and challenging circumstances. Their stories, available for you to read in the store and on our website, are truly inspirational.
