Regional News Program
October 24, 2010: The CHLY Citizen Journalist Regional News Training Program is nearing completion of this first ever round of news training offered by CHLY due to a grant we received from the Community Radio Fund of Canada ( http://www.communityradiofund.org/ ) (CRFC). The goal of this training is to have a group of dedicated volunteers that live within our broadcast area and who are interested in creating a regularly-produced local news program.
We hope to offer similar training again and will accept applications for future consideration, although we can not guarantee a particular start date or any other details at this time.
Prequisities to this course are: computer knowledge (internet browsing, file storage and retrieval, text editing), proven ability to work as part of a team, and a willingness to become a citizen journalist, regularly contributing to this work. If you would like to be added to a wait list for a possible future training program, please fill in the form below.
These responses will be kept confidential, for the explicit use of CHLY only, to determine class structure for this project. This information will not be shared with any third party except as required by law.
Donating to and becoming a member of the Radio Malaspina Society which runs the volunteer-driven, listener-supported community-based campus radio station we call CHLY, could help us to bring this invaluable service you.
We strongly encourage interested parties within our broadcast area and beyond to become a member of CHLY.
